Biomedical Sciences Major (Doctoral Course)

In the Graduate School of Biomedical & Health Sciences (Biomedical Science Major), there is no Master's program; only the doctoral program is available. A minimum of 4 years residence is required.

In the Department of Gastroenterology and Metabolism, we welcome both medical doctors and university graduates with non-medical degrees as Ph.D. students.
Motivated students can receive research guidance working at a RIKEN laboratory located on the Kasumi Campus of Hiroshima University. Post-doctoral researchers will provide guidance for experimental design and serve as mentors in preparation of research papers and presentations.
One student who graduated from a department of science was appointed to a position with Hiroshima University after receiving her medical degree.
